Seventh Tree

This is how I would dress if I lived in the garden. I just love the look of Alison Goldfrapp in these pictures for the Seventh Tree album.

The Garden

I helped my friend to clean the strawberry fields for weeds yesterday. Her family has an enormous garden. I walked around singing Simon and Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair and Goldfrapp's Road to Somewhere, feeling that I wanted to camp there in a big pointy tent wearing nothing but big, flowing clothes.
Today I read something that made me think about the garden. I love how Virginia Wolf turns signs of spring and being in love into a similar context. This is from Mrs. Dalloway: "... But of all this what could the most observant of friends have said except what a gardener says when he opens the conservatory door in the morning and finds a new blossom on his plant: -It has flowered; flowered from vanity, ambition, idealism, passion, loneliness, courage, laziness, the usual seeds, which all muddeled, made him shy, and stammering, made him anxious to improve himself, ..."

A Pop Up Book

I should have written about the exhibition A Pop Up Book a long time ago. It was an exhibition where different Norwegian artists and designers came together to show some of their work. Amongst them were me, Kings of Convenience, T-Michael, Norwegian Rain, Kristoffer Kongshaug, DoubleYou Perfume, Norwegian Rain, Bjørg Jewellery, etc.  Because that I am so late, why not read what Vogue Italia, The Diane Pernet Blog - A Shaded View on Fashion, or Oslo Nights had to write about it.

Here is a little about the choreography I did at the exhibit:
Currently in his second year studying Classical Ballet at Oslo National Academy of The Arts, Jonas loves to explore the unison between the classical dance and other art forms and expressions.
He has just become 23 years old. "The expression in the dance is what makes the dancer" - this is something he always keeps in mind.
Especially inspired by music, litterature and people, "Shadow Journal" is a piece where the dancer is turned into a minimalistic object to be looked upon as just another piece in the exhibition. At the same time the object is alive and pulsating, filled with visable feeling. It is composed by Jonas, using a mixture of set movement patterns and imporvisation.

Lyon Cycle Chic

Probably the chicest bicycle shop on the planet, Lyon Cycle Chic combines great atmosphere, cool and friendly staff, fantastic selection and brands and espressos in the sofa to make the ultimate experience. You can get helmets formed as hats and other cycle-couture. My absolute favourite is this Brompton bicycle. Love the colour and the customized equipment from Brooks. Bromptons are very light and can be folded together. (Where can I get this in Norway?). The red Brompton at the bottom is Fabiène's.

At The Sunday Marked

What I first fell for in this outfit was the cute and very basic shirt with textile buttons. The sailorpants and polkadot platform peeptoes are great as well. There is something tomboy and preppy about the outfit, but the shoes, Repetto pouch and golden locks gives it great contrast.

Yellow Skirt

This skirt is really something. I think it can turn any outfit into something spectacular. The vintage Valentino shades are also great. The girl is from New Zealand by the way - so now you know!

Yesterday

Yesterday I spent several hours sitting on my favourite spot next to the Saône not wearing much more than sunscreen 50+ eating cake, listening to nice French music (Thomas Fersen and Arthur H) and reading Mrs. Dalloway. There is really nothing like the feeling of a really early spring.

C'est Vincent

I met Vincent in the shop Le Dexieme. I love how the different garments and accessories look so randomly good together as an ensemble. The sandals from Bernhard Wilhelm are fantastic.

Check out his blog where also has posted some pictures of me: Mode-S-Street.

Saxe Gambetta

I love the area where I live in Lyon. It is very urban and distressed and it has got its very own charm. There are so many hidden treasures everywhere. A club/theatre hidden in a boulangerie, ateliers, galleries and cool creative offices, bars and cafés, the nicest bicycle shop in the world - Lyon Cycle Chic (you'll get an espresso while waiting for your bicycle to be repaired), beautiful and funny street art, a completely pink house, etc. You'll never know what will be around the corner.

LEDIXIEME

Le Dixieme is one of my two favourite stores in Lyon. There is something with the atmosphere in the shop with its quirky details and great vintage furniture and objects. The staff are also very nice and helpful. You can find brands such as Acne, APC, Band of Outsiders, Bérangère Claire, fantastic pieces from Cacharel, the very exiting brand Commune de Paris, etc. Check out http://www.ledixieme.com/.

Lunch

Lunch at the Saône with Fabiène a sunny Friday is never wrong. The sticker is from an orange. And can somebody please explain me why a boy can not be coquette? I would love to be!

Tropical Part 5 - The Last Tropical Chapter

Tropical Part 4

I have to give praise to Vs. Magazine and their Spring/Summer edition called Curious. I love absolutely everything in the magazine, and the fashion editorials are amazing. On the top of my list is this editorial called Tutti Frutti - The Lady in the Tutti Frutti Hat. It's by Ellen Von Unwerth

-

I love the kitchy sailor looks and need to know where I can get a hold of the sailor hat.
